Rose Kirby

in conversation with Lynne Channing
It all came too late!

Memories are a wonderful thing. During Rose’s 83 years she has faced many trials and tribulations, some more traumatic than others but they have made her the strong woman she is today. Many of the stories below are taken straight from Rose’s memory journal and are in her own words unedited. Rose Florence Marlene Kirby (née Smith) was born on January 8, 1941, in the Deniliquin Hospital in New South Wales. Her parents James and Elsie Smith had three other children: sister Christina Isabella, and brothers Eric Arthur, and George Arnold. Tragedy had struck with the passing of another brother, called either James or Graham.
